The festival continues with a chamber music concert at Peabody Conservatory, featuring Thierry de Mey's unique percussion piece, Table Music, Du Yun's Tattooed in the Snow for string quartet and Dan Visconti's haunting Black Bend. Cellist Inbal Segev returns to the festival to perfom Osvaldo Golijov's deeply personal Mariel. The program concludes with James MacMillan's dynamic Exorcism of Rio Sumpul, conducted by Marin Alsop.

New Music Festival: Chamber Music Concert

Hosted by vocal percussionist Shodekeh, the BSO teams up with the Motor House to present a chamber jam in Graffiti Alley with performances by Du Yun & OK Miss and local new music group Mind on Fire.

This is a free concert open to the general public. No tickets required.

Join us for a free symphonic concert at the Meyerhoff, featuring the World Premiere of Kevin Puts’ Oboe Concerto, “Moonlight,” inspired by the Oscar-winning film. The program also includes Du Yun's vivid Slow Portraits, Dan Visconti's pastoral Slow Country Haze and James MacMillan's Woman of the Apocalypse, written for Marin Alsop. A panel discussion with Marin Alsop, James MacMillan, Kevin Puts, Dan Visconti and Du Yun takes place at 7:15 pm in the Meyerhoff lobby.

Come early and enjoy a block party beginning at 6 pm outside of the Meyerhoff. Featuring food trucks and live music from DJ Double 8!
