Creative Connections Performance Friday, March 20, 12:30 PM
Shriver Hall, 3400 North Charles Avenue, Baltimore, 21218
Creative Connections creates new music with young people from Baltimore City Public schools during an intensive week of creative workshops. This is a collaborative process involving Baltimore City School participants ranging from six years old through seniors in high school, conservatory music students both at the undergraduate and graduate level and performing artists and teachers from within Baltimore and overseas from London, UK. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and their OrchKids program are integral as well as Johns Hopkins University, Peabody Conservatory, and all of the participating public schools. Together this diverse body of individuals and organizations form a new piece of music that reflects both individual and collective identities. It is a beautiful representation of how music can empower, educate, engage, express and harmoniously bring people together to create something larger than themselves.
