Beethoven's early ballet score shows him moving toward the dynamic style that became his trademark. Written many years later, his famous Violin Concerto is undoubtedly the Mount Everest of the violin repertoire, posing daunting challenges to the soloist. Beethoven's ceaseless efforts to expand and enrich the Classical style led finally to full-blooded Romanticism, an era exemplified by Schumann's vibrant Fourth Symphony.
