Brilliant violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg joins Marin Alsop and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the start of an exhilarating 2010-2011 season. Inspired by Vivaldi’s popular work, this special opening gala concert features the tango-inspired, sultry rhythms of Piazzolla’s
Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.
Please Note:
Due to the anticipated crowd and street closures, we strongly encourage you to arrive early to allow plenty of time to park,
pick up tickets at will-call and be seated in the concert hall in time for the 8:30 p.m. start time.
Street Closures:
Preston Street between Cathedral and Howard Streets will be
closed from Wednesday through Monday afternoon. On Saturday, Park Avenue will be closed all day between Cathedral and Howard
Streets.
Parking:
Both the Cathedral Street Garage and the Symphony Center Garage are reserved for the evening and not open to the general public.
Gala attendees will follow directions supplied with their tickets for valet parking. Parking for concertgoers not attending
Gala activities has been
made available in the University of Baltimore Garage, located on Maryland Avenue between Biddle and Chase Streets. If you
have already purchased and received a parking voucher for the UB garage, please place the voucher onto the dash of your vehicle
prior to entering the garage. If you have not purchased a voucher for the UB garage, you may pay as you park for $12.
The lobby opens at 7 p.m. Ticketholders-please enter the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall by presenting your concert tickets
at the Hall Lobby entrance on Park Avenue, closest to the UB parking garage. To pick up Will Call tickets or purchase tickets,
access to the Ticket
Office Lobby will also be available from Park Avenue. Traffic guards and ushers will be on hand to direct patrons into the
Hall or to the Ticket Office.
