Off the Cuff: Mahler’s Titan
Performance Dates
Marin Alsop, conductor
Mahler -  Symphony No. 1 "Titan"
Multimedia

Titan: "One of prodigious size, strength, or achievement." Every symphony Gustav Mahler wrote needed to encompass the world. Each brims full of melody, warmth and sheer magnitude. In his first symphony, aptly named “Titan,” we hear his love for nature and influences from popular waltzes to funeral marches, and folk songs to Klezmer music.
