Stirred by Brahms' Third Symphony, Dvorák vowed to make his Seventh a piece "capable of moving the world." The resulting Symphony in D Minor explores moods of tragedy and pastoral reflection. Considered by some to be Dvorák's greatest symphony, it is paired with the composer's lilting, cheerful Scherzo capriccioso. Both works provide a striking contrast with the poetic restraint of Chopin's First Piano Concerto.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with the League of American Orchestras and the MD Food Bank, is participating in a nationwide food drive. Please visit BSOmusic.org/fooddrive to learn more.
