Ravel's La Valse and Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances illustrate two different ways of exploring the inner life of dance music, beginning with the collage of a waltz scene that erupts into a full-blown party in Ravel's La Valse. The French team of award-winning pianist Frank Braley and conductor Stéphane Denéve, two of the fastest rising stars on the classical music scene, make their debuts with the BSO for this performance.
