Spring for Music
one week, five orchestras, $25 tickets

The BSO is one of only five North American orchestras given this prestigious invitation to perform as part of the Spring for Music Festival at Carnegie Hall, one of the world’s most venerable music venues. Spring for Music encourages orchestras to be truly creative with programs that innovate and stimulate. And the BSO has certainly programmed a concert that fits the bill. Please join us and be part of the hometown crowd for this exclusive event!

The program features the amazing and high-energy Time for Three, a string trio that plays everything from bluegrass to jazz, from folk to classical. Hear them groove in the New York premiere of Jennifer Higdon’s Concerto 4-3, a work composed especially for them. Also on the program are John Adams’ Shaker Loops, one of the composer’s most iconic and accessible works, and Prokofiev’s rarely performed Fourth Symphony. Don’t miss this unusually powerful program and the chance to hear Marin Alsop conduct repertoire for which she is best known. Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley makes a special guest appearance to open the concert and explain what makes the BSO Maryland’s leading cultural asset!
