Continuing our season-long celebration of folk music's influence on classical traditions, Music Director Marin Alsop leads a program filled with life and dance. The concert opens with special guests Harmonia performing traditional folk music of Eastern Europe. Bartók's towering Concerto for Orchestra is full of folk rhythms and zest—and expertly showcases the BSO's sectional virtuosity. Grammy Award-winning violinist James Ehnes will captivate you with Tchaikovsky's brilliant Violin Concerto to close the program.
