The Unanwered Question is Ives' musical attempt to probe the questions of "Who are we? What is the meaning of life?" This is contrasted by the youthful exuberance of Mozart's Symphony No. 29, and closes with the sheer force of Saint-Saëns' "Organ" Symphony, capped off with a mightly fanfare.
