Marin Alsop opens the season in the "Twilight of the Gods," ascending skyward for the concluding moments of Wagner's epic "Ring" as the heavens erupt into all-consuming flames. The journey accelerates into space with the percussion-inspired sound world of Daugherty's UFO, a modern counterpart to Holst's greatest masterpiece, The Planets. The program is enhanced by dramatic lighting and theatrical effects.

Hear engaging musical insights from the experts at 7 pm before all concerts on the Friday E Series-free, thanks to the Baltimore Symphony Associates.

Imagination Stage is presenting the play Playing from the Heart by playwright Charles Way in November, inspired by the life of Evelyn Glennie. Click here for more details on this inspirational true-life story of finding the inner strength to overcome all obstacles to pursue one's passion.
