Classical Concert Series
Mozart Violin Concerto No. 5
Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 8:00 p.m.
This event is no longer available.
Ludovic Morlot, conductor
Nikolai Znaider, violin
Dukas -  Sorcerer's Apprentice
Mozart -  Violin Concerto No. 5, "Turkish"
Franck -  Symphony in D Minor
Multimedia

Spinning a magical tale, Dukas' brightly orchestrated and enduring classic, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, still harkens images of dancing broomsticks as made famous in Disney's Fantasia. By contrast, Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 draws out the lyricism and agility of the soloist in the most popular of his five concertos for the instrument, the "Turkish." Franck's eloquent Symphony in D Minor unleashes the full force and glory of the orchestra.

Hear engaging musical insights from the experts at 7 pm before all concerts on the Friday E Series-free, thanks to the Baltimore Symphony Associates.
