Ravel -
Piano Concerto for Left Hand Shostakovich -
Symphony No. 7, "Leningrad"
A powerhouse program dominated by the profoundly moving wartime symphony of Dmitri Shostakovich, to this day considered a musical testament to the 25 million Soviet citizens who lost their lives in WWII. Legendary Baltimore resident and pianist Leon Fleisher performs Ravel’s Piano Concerto for Left Hand, a work Fleisher made famous when injury forced him to stop playing two-hand repertoire for almost four decades.
