Twenty-three-year-old French piano sensation Lise de la Salle makes her BSO debut with one of Mozart’s most popular concertos, a favorite of the young Beethoven who must have admired its dark beauty. American conductor James Gaffigan shows why he is such a big talent with three 19th century orchestral masterworks by Brahms, Wagner and Richard Strauss.
