For the second straight year, the musicians of the Baltimore Symphony sponsored a toy drive which benefitted the Kennedy Krieger Institute. The Kennedy Krieger Institute is a recovery hospital serving children who face such issues as brain related disabilities and spinal cord injuries. It is associated with and is located next to the Johns Hopkins University Medical Campus. Throughout the month of December, the BSO musicians collected hundreds of toys which will be given to the patients at Kennedy Krieger and their siblings. On December 21, 2007, BSO musicians once again arrived at Kennedy Krieger with a van full of toys and musical instruments in hand, not to mention an oboe-playing Santa. The 2007 Toy Drive collected even more toys than the previous year and created a perfect way for the BSO to spread and share some holiday cheer.
