Associate Concertmaster Madeline Adkins leads BSO soloists in a program of concertos by Vivaldi, widely recognized as the master of the Baroque instrumental concerto. The concert also includes Handel’s Concerto Grosso, as well as Biber’s Battalia, described by the composer as: "The Battle. The dissolute horde of musketeers, Mars, the fight, and the lament of the wounded, imitated with arias, and dedicated to Bacchus [the Roman god of wine and revelry]".
