When not rehearsing or performing on stage with the BSO, I spend my time…As a mother, I don’t have as much free time as I used to.  But when I get a moment, I enjoy going for a run, working out, going skiing in the winter or working in my vegetable garden.  I also enjoy cooking with my husband John.  We joke that we have the best restaurant in town.

If I have not decided to become a professional musician…believe it or not, I might have gone into stand up comedy or theater.  I used to hang out at the Stand Up in New York and actually met John Stewart.

To unwind, I listen to…Jazz and Folk.

In the car, I mostly listen to…NPR, as I don’t have time to read the paper everyday.

My current ring tone is…old phone, the loudest ring on my iPhone!

The last books I read were…”The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein.  Also, “Freedom” by Jonathan Franzen

Most people would be surprised to learn that…I seriously contemplated giving up music for stand up comedy while I was in college.

The craziest thing I have ever done is…jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.

My dream is to…be able to travel anywhere, at any time of year.  I guess that would be retirement, wouldn’t it…

The non-musical accomplishment that I am most proud of is…my daughter.

My guilty pleasure is…a good single malt scotch every once in a while.

My favorite vacation spot is…Colorado in the winter, or Siesta Key Beach in Florida in the early summer

The last movie I saw was…The Tree of Life.

To prepare for a performance, I…practice, practice, practice…then hopefully squeeze in a small nap. (the latter rarely happens anymore)

If I could choose another instrument to play, it would be the…oboe.  When it’s played well, one can get lost in its melodies.

Do you play any other instruments?  Electric violin, does that count?
