Chamber Music Performances:

Born in Moscow, Russia, critically acclaimed violinist Igor Yuzefovich began his violin studies at the age of five, and was soon accepted into the Gnessin Music School where he studied with Irina Svetlova.  Mr. Yuzefovich was brought up in a musical family in Russia where his father, a violist and musicologist, headed the performing arts section of classical music magazine, Sovietskaya Muzyka.  In 1990, while on a musical exchange, he performed at the Rubin Academy in Tel Aviv and on Israeli National Television.

Mr. Yuzefovich emigrated to the United States in 1991 and began studying with Jody Gatwood and Leri Slutsky in the Preparatory Division of the Peabody Institute, and later with Victor Danchenko at the Peabody Conservatory, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree and Graduate Performance Diploma.

A winner of numerous competitions, Mr. Yuzefovich has performed in many countries around the world; his concerts have taken him from Carnegie Hall in New York to the Cairo Opera House in Egypt.  He has also performed in Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Russia, France, Israel, Jordan, and South Africa.

An active chamber musician, Mr. Yuzefovich was a prizewinner at the 1996 Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition as a member of the Russia Quartet.  In 2004 he co-founded the Monument Piano Trio, which debuted to critical acclaim in Baltimore.

In 2004, after substituting as Concertmaster for the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Yuzefovich accepted the position on a permanent basis.  In September 2005, he joined the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra as Assistant Concertmaster.
