Chamber Music Performances:

April 7, 2013

In my free time, I like to.... travel around the country, take pictures and collect newspaper articles on department stores and their histories. I have over 5000 articles filed away.

If I hadn't become an oboist…I might have become a research librarian but as a child I wanted to be a drawbridge operator.

In my car, you'll most likely find me listening to… the screams of tourists as I drive the speed limit down the cobblestone streets of my neighborhood in Fells Point.

I listen to no music when I unwind. That’s what TV is for.

The ring tone on my cell phone is…not on. I am on a budget plan which isn’t even offered by the company anymore.

My most embarrassing moment onstage was… leaving the stage during a Pops concert due to an MSG reaction and finding the bathroom door locked.

The last book I read was…Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris and the 2005 May Department Stores Corporate Fact Book.

Most people would be surprised to find out… that I ate jello cubes with the Dalai Lama. True Story!

Most people would also be surprised to learn that…I sang in a chorus with Vanessa Williams.

The craziest thing I have ever done was…becoming the Troop Cookie Manager (TCM) for Brownie Troop #1662.

The non-musical accomplishment I am most proud of is…Baltimore City Council’s Resolution #4212.

My guilty pleasure is…anything fried.

My favorite vacation spot is…any place that serves fried whole clams and lobster rolls.  With a beautiful scenic coastline and appropriate souvenir options.

If I could play another instrument, I would…probably choose the bassoon.  I played it a little in high school but was forced to give it up.  Maybe viola but who can deal with that clef?

If I could spend a day with any composer, it would be…Aaron Copland.  There I said it and I’m not afraid to admit it.  I wouldn’t mind having a scotch with Vaughn-Williams though.
