Chamber Music Performances:

In my free time you will most likely find me… reading, cooking, studying musical scores and traveling.

If I had not become a professional musician… I might have become a cartographer, historian or chef.

To unwind… I listen to the music of Satie or the Turtle Island String Quartet and play with my cat.

In the car, you will most likely catch me listening to… music by Brahms, Debussy, Shostakovich or Vaughn Williams.

My current ring tone is… cosmic.

The last book I read was… The Poe Shadow by Matthew Pearl.

Most people would be surprised to learn that… I can imitate the voice of the Wicked Witch of the West from the classic 1939 movie, “The Wizard of Oz.”

My favorite vacation spot is… anywhere in Italy.

The last movie I saw was… Amistad.

If I could choose another instrument to play, I would choose the… trombone.

Do you play any other instrument?  No, the viola is enough of a challenge.

My most embarrassing musical moment was… when my stand partner at the time carefully placed her instrument on her chair just prior to the beginning of a concert, then left the stage and didn’t return until the second half.  I ended up sitting next to an empty chair for the entire first half of the program!

An extremely positive musical experience I have had was… performing the Schubert String Quintet with Pinchas Zuckerman for a BSO SummerFest concert.

Profound musical experiences that shaped or deeply influenced my approach to music were… my studies with Francis Tursi at the Eastman School of Music and with William Primrose at The Banff Centre.

I would like to spend the day with… Johannes Brahms.
