William Jenken joined the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra as second clarinetist in January of 1998.  Originally from northern Alberta (Canada), he has been a member of several Canadian orchestras.  Most recently, Mr. Jenken was the Assistant Principal Clarinetist and Bass Clarinetist of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (1989-1998) in British Columbia, under Music Director Sergiu Commissiona.  During his tenure with the VSO, he was actively involved as a teacher and chamber musician.  In Vancouver, he was a member of the chamber group Curio, performances of which were broadcasted nationally on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).  In addition, he has appeared as a soloist with several orchestras including a performance of the Copland Clarinet Concerto with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra as well as a movement of the Bruch Double Concerto for Clarinet and Viola with violist Peter Minkler for the BSO.
