Current Collaborations
RAP (Rebuilding through Art Project)
Jay Wolf Schlossberg-Cohen, former OSI Fellow and President of the Board of Directors for the RAP (Rebuilding through Art Project) will be working with 4th and 5th graders at Lockerman Bundy Elementary School to create an OrchKids mural on the first floor of the school leading into the OrchKids classroom.
The working title is "Where We Play" which will be based on images created about music and musicians using RAP's unique community-based public art process. RAP students will spend time sketching OrchKids and their instruments, will learn musical terms and join OrchKids on field trips to hear the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra to see live professional musicians in action to hone their artistic vision for the mural. OrchKids will also be including the RAP students in their healthy supper plan for the days they are working after school with the program.
RAP began workshops on Thursday January 21, 2010 and will continue with after school sessions every Thursday from 3.30-5:00, with workshops continuing into April. The mural painting process has an estimated completion date of May 31, 2010.
