The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Announces Anna Clyne Residency

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) today announced a residency during the 2015-16 season with composer Anna Clyne. The residency will be comprised of three visits with the Orchestra, collaborative education activities with Baltimore City students, participation in a V-log on, a visit to an OrchKids school site, a collaboration with the Baltimore Museum of Art, and two performances of her orchestral music, culminating in the world premiere of a new work, commissioned by Bonnie McElveen-Hunter for the BSO and Music Director Marin Alsop in honor of Baltimore philanthropists Robert E. Meyerhoff and Rheda Becker.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Celebrates their Centennial Season Opening with Two Community Events: Media Alert

Members of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra are hosting a sing-along featuring the 1914 city anthem, "Baltimore, Our Baltimore,” as the first event in the celebration of the BSO's 100th anniversary. Following the sing-along, on the eve of the BSO’s Opening Night Gala, superstar pianist Lang Lang will join the BSO OrchKids at their facility to rehearse with the students in preparation for a special opening night collaboration.

Music Director Marin Alsop and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) announce the Orchestra’s celebratory Centennial 2015-2016 season, its ninth season under the direction of Maestra Alsop. Through appearances by the world’s most renowned artists, premieres of several new works, Baltimore homecomings from local artists or artists who got their start on the BSO stage, exciting signature projects and strengthening of longstanding community partnerships, the BSO marks this important milestone in grand fashion.
