Join us for the final BSO Open Rehearsal of the season, featuring young Russian conductor Anna Rakitina as she navigates the mysteries and charms of Elgar’s titillating Enigma Variations.

Following the rehearsal listen to, BSO Associate Principal Cello, Lachezar Kostov, discuss some intricacies of Elgar’s Enigma, and share what it’s like to work with superstar guest artist Joshua Bell. Boxed lunches from Atwater’s are available to order in advance for $15. A small selection of extras will be available for purchase at the door for $20 on a first come first served basis.

The Music Center at Strathmore

Join us for part of the BSO’s Rachmaninoff Festival, as the orchestra rehearses a program of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff with Music Director Designate, Jonathon Heyward, and pianist Behzod Abduraimov.

Following the rehearsal, enjoy dinner from the Allegro Kitchen and learn about Rachmaninoff and his Symphonic Dances from Lachezar Kostov, Associate Principal Cello.

CHAMBER MUSIC INTERLUDE 
Benefit requirement: Brahms Level Membership ($250+)
Enjoy a private chamber recital given by BSO musicians in unique spaces outside of the concert hall, followed by a light reception and conversation. COVID-19 Vaccination is required to dine with BSO musicians.

In 2015/16, Music Director Laureate & OrchKids Founder, Marin Alsop, established a loan program of several of her family’s extraordinary instruments and bows to members of the Orchestra. To honor this family legacy, we are pleased to curate a chamber performance featuring those donations, and our talented musicians: Holly Jenkins, first violin; Bo Li, fourth chair cello; Dariusz Skoraczewski, principal cello; Lisa Steltenpohl, principal viola.

BSO musicians will be joined by Olga Kern, the Russian-American pianist with family ties to Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky, and the winner at 17 of the prestigious Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition.
