The BSO is excited to share the experience of our extraordinary Orchestra and our Season of Discovery with patrons in the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and in our second home at The Music Center at Strathmore, where we are a Founding and Resident Partner.

As we previously shared, Strathmore has been engaged in labor negotiations with IATSE Local 868, the union that represents Strathmore’s Ticket Office employees.

After helping to steer Strathmore and IATSE Local 868 towards mediation, we understand that the two parties have not yet reached an agreement and need more time to see this process through. The resolution of this underlying labor dispute remains the first step towards the BSO’s return to our beloved second home.

Equally important, and against this backdrop, we have not yet reached resolution on the BSO’s annual license agreement – an agreement that sets the financial and legal terms of our 2021-22 season concerts at The Music Center. At the core of our conversations remains Strathmore’s proposed requirement that the BSO compel our unionized stagehands and musicians to cross a picket line and work with replacement workers in the event of strike action by Strathmore’s bargaining unitsOur agreements and relationships with our own collective bargaining units make it both ethically and legally impossible to agree to such changes and precedent

Due to these ongoing negotiations, the performance previously scheduled for The Music Center at Strathmore on Saturday, October 23 at 8 pm (Marin Conducts Rachmaninoff) will now take place at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore.

A complete listing of affected BSO at Strathmore concerts and newly available Meyerhoff dates through October 23 is listed below. All new Baltimore dates are available for public sale, and all previously scheduled Meyerhoff performances for these weeks will proceed as advertised. We remain committed to ensuring our Strathmore ticket holders can still experience these concerts and assisting our patrons through these changes. Strathmore ticket holders will be offered comparable seating, complimentary parking, and complimentary roundtrip motorcoach transportation, among other benefits. The BSO’s responsible return policies, including proof of vaccination, photo ID, and masking requirements, apply for all relocated concerts.
