The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra extends its reach beyond the Baltimore region and serves as Maryland’s premier orchestra. By performing weekly in one of the finest concert halls in the country - The Music Center at Strathmore, the BSO brings world-class symphonic music that much closer to residents of Montgomery County and the broader Washington metropolitan area.

As a founding partner and built with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at the forefront of the design influence, Strathmore is designed to ensure that sound reaches all corners of the space uniformly following reflection from the curved surface. In this perfect setting, you will get to enjoy a wide range of thrilling programs, world-renowned guest artists, and of course the extraordinary Baltimore Symphony Orchestra!

In addition to being the most sonically ideal venue for live symphony music in the DC metro area, The Music Center Strathmore is conveniently located. Connected to an upper floor of the parking garage at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Washington Metro station via an elevated pedestrian walkway, Strathmore is accessible for patrons coming from Washington, DC, as well as the northern part of Montgomery County, Maryland via the Metro rail system, and event parking is free.

Marin Conducts
Time For Three
Feb 15-18

Music Director Laureate Marin Alsop returns to conduct the Grammy Award-winning string trio Time For Three, reunites with composer Kevin Puts, and leads the BSO in works by Strauss and Ravel.

Tan Dun Conducts
May 18 & 19

Tan Dun, a boundary-breaking artist of limitless imagination, brings a program that straddles Chinese and Western traditions including two works he composed.

Gala 23-24

For the first time ever, we open the 2023-24 season at The Music Center at Strathmore on Friday, September 22, 2023. On Saturday, September 23, 2023, the BSO’s Gala returns in full form to the Meyerhoff with an after-party for all to accompany the concert. Closing the weekend of celebrations, on Sunday, Jonathon Heyward leads the Orchestra in his first free community concert as part of the return of Artscape.

Coined as “One to Watch” as a part of the Bloomberg 50 list, Jonathon’s first season demonstrates his passion for connecting various art forms to audiences new and old. Armed with a deep appreciation of the classical genre, he is already off to a rousing start by curating and creating new series that usher in greater accessibility to classical music across the state of Maryland.
