Matthew Cone

Matthew Cone, 25, is a two-time recent graduate of the Yale School of Music, studying with Professor Tai Murray. He has learned from prolific violinists over the years, including Sibbi Bernhardsson, Renee Jolles, Philip Setzer, Eugene Drucker, and has played in masterclasses for Augustin Hadelich, Rachel Barton Pine, Almita Vamos, and current Boston Symphony Concertmaster Nathan Cole. A prolific and active chamber musician, he has collaborated with musicians of the Vega String Quartet, Borromeo String Quartet, Brentano String Quartet, and the Emerson String Quartet, and members of the San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony, as well as Yo-Yo Ma. Matthew has also been fortunate enough to lead the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra as concertmaster under the batons of both Andris Nelsons and Esa-Pekka Salonen, as well as perform under Boston Symphony Assistant Conductors Yiran Zhao, Samy Rachid, Anna Handler, and Elim Chan.
