Levels and benefits are subject to change without notice. Benefits are effective for a full year from the date of your contribution. All benefits are available to donors, regardless of primary attendance venue or support designation. Donors who give through a giving vehicle (such as a Donor-Advised Fund) for which a tax receipt may not be issued are ineligible to receive benefits with a stated fair market value. Matching gifts apply toward the total membership level unless otherwise indicated.
Membership FAQs
When you make a donation of $75 or more, you become part of the BSO’s member family. In thanks for your generous support, we’re pleased to provide you with an array of benefits designed specifically for your level of giving, including a select number of complimentary passes for our Ovation Series of events and special opportunities to get closer to the music and musicians you love.
Membership lasts a full 12 months! Your membership expiration date is set when you first give a gift. We’ll send you renewal reminders as you approach the end of your year. Your membership expiration date can be viewed online when you log in to your account, or on your membership card.
If you are enrolled in Monthly Giving or Annual Auto Renew, your membership will not expire until you unenroll from the program.
No, concert and Ovation Series tickets do not count toward your annual Membership total giving.

If you join as a member during the season, you will receive your membership level amount of Ovation Series passes for the season. Your Ovation Series passes expire at the end of each season. At the beginning of each season, all members receive their full allotment of Ovation Series passes based on their giving level on July 31st.
Visit BSOmusic.org/Ovation to explore this season’s selection, select your desired event, and sign in as a member to be guided through the reservation process. Your complimentary passes will be automatically applied at check-out. Once you’ve used all your passes, you may still participate in Ovation events with just a $10 donation per person.
It’s never too late to give! Your expiration date may move, but you can rejoin as a member at any time.
Your contribution is tax deductible, minus the stated fair market value of goods and services received in exchange for your contribution. This is listed with each Membership level. If you wish for your gift to be fully tax deductible, please select “I do not want the benefits associated with my gift,” as you make your gift.
When you make your membership donation, simply select the "I decline the goods and services associated with my Membership" option on the form. If you are already a member and would like to decline your benefits, you may call us at 410.783.8000 or email us at Membership@BSOmusic.org to let us know so that we can issue a new receipt that declines the benefits. You will be automatically excluded from receiving complimentary Ovation Series vouchers and other benefits with a fair market value, but you will continue to receive invitations to participate and enjoy benefits that do not have a fair market value.
