Education
The BSO offers several educational opportunities both at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and in the classroom designed for life-long learning.
Midweek Education Concerts
STEAM-activated, arts-integrated orchestra concerts for students Pre-K through Middle School and beyond.

Open Rehearsals
The BSO Open Rehearsal series is an incredible opportunity to listen in to a working rehearsal of a professional symphony orchestra.
Side-By-sides
This unique program gives high school music students the rare and invaluable experience of rehearsing and performing with BSO musicians. There is simply no substitute for sitting and performing alongside a professional musician who’s playing the same instrument and part.

BSO on the Go
BSO on the Go places selected BSO musicians into the county’s elementary schools (including Title I schools). In contrast to a passive auditorium concert, these interactive programs take place in a more intimate classroom setting that encourages students and musicians to engage one another.
Adult Academy Programs
The BSO Academy brings together passionate adult instrumental musicians from all over the United States and the world, for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Academy participants play side-by-side with the BSO in rehearsals and performances, and experience musical enrichment classes, lectures, chamber music coachings, sectionals and other special events led by BSO musicians and experts in the field. The Academy provides an immersive experience for adult non-professional musicians who desire an intensive learning experience.

Baltimore SYmphony Youth Orchestras
The BSYO is comprised of three ensembles tailored to specific age groups and skill levels, offering each student individualized attention and a supportive, inclusive, collaborative performance environment.
