Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Announces Leadership Appointments to Strengthen Audience Engagement and Philanthropic Support
Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer Jennifer Barton leads team spanning philanthropy, marketing, technology, and patron services
BALTIMORE, MD (October 8, 2026) — Today, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) announced leadership appointments that bring fundraising, marketing, technology, and patron services together under Jennifer Barton, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, in a newly created role. As the Orchestra marks 110 years of music in Maryland, the structure supports a coordinated approach to growing audiences, deepening patron and donor relationships, and sustaining the BSO’s artistic and community work.
Barton will lead a team of four vice presidents. Graham Wright joins the BSO from the Boston Symphony Orchestra as Vice President of Marketing and Communications, while Anneliese Van Arsdale has been promoted to Vice President of Philanthropy, Adeline Sutter to Vice President of Venue and Patron Services, and Amy Bruce to Vice President of Technology and Revenue Operations.
“As the BSO works to accelerate revenue growth, deepen patron relationships and operate more efficiently, our new team and structure will further align fundraising, marketing and patron engagement support strategies,” said Mark C. Hanson, BSO President and CEO.
Barton has served in BSO leadership roles since 2020, most recently as Senior Vice President & Chief Revenue Strategy Officer. As Chief Strategy Officer, she will lead the integrated revenue team and partner with Hanson and colleagues across the organization on institution-wide strategy.
Graham Wright, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, joined the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on October 5. At the Boston Symphony Orchestra, he led content and creative, digital experience, communications operations, and data platform and AI initiatives, driving more than 60% growth in online ticket sales over six years. In Baltimore, he will oversee single-ticket and subscription marketing, membership, creative services, communications strategy, and public relations.
Anneliese Van Arsdale, Vice President of Philanthropy, joined the BSO in 2025 as Campaign Director, following her tenure as Director of Corporate Giving at Sheppard Pratt. Working with fundraising leadership and the BSO’s gift officers, she has developed cultivation and solicitation strategies and led prospect research for the Orchestra’s major fundraising efforts. In her new role, she also leads the gift officer team and the BSO’s broader philanthropic relationship strategy.
Amy Bruce, Vice President of Technology and Revenue Operations, has served on the BSO staff since 2010. She leads Patron Support and Advancement Operations, oversees revenue reporting and forecasting, and manages patron-facing technologies, including Tessitura and BSOmusic.org. Her expanded responsibilities include the Orchestra’s IT operations and strategy.
Adeline Sutter, Vice President of Venue and Patron Services, has been promoted from Senior Director of Patron Experience. She now oversees group sales and Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall rentals, including the Baltimore Speaker Series and commencement ceremonies. She continues to lead the Hospitality Team—including ushers, housekeeping, volunteers, and contract event staff—and oversee events.
