BALTIMORE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CANCELS OR RESCHEDULES CONCERTS AND PUBLIC EVENTS THROUGH APRIL 12

Hiplet Ballerinas and Maxwell performances to be rescheduled, OrchKids continues instruction remotely

March 17, 2020 (Baltimore, MD) – The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra today announced that it would cancel or reschedule all concerts and public events through April 12 at both the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and The Music Center at Strathmore. All affected concerts and events are listed below.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra continues to monitor the outbreak of COVID-19 as well as follow the recommendations of the CDC and government officials. These are unprecedented and challenging times for our local and global community. Just as we are committed to protecting the health and safety of our audiences, musicians and staff, we are also committed to doing our part to help minimize the spread of this virus.

The BSO’s OrchKids program has made arrangements to offer all of its current after-school instrumental students live, online private instruction using the Teacher Zone platform, with additional online content curated by OrchKids teaching artists for all program participants. BSO Donor Celebration

Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestras
All rehearsals at Carver Center for Arts and Technology are postponed until after public school spring break, with an announcement about future rehearsals to be made after April 12.

The BSO COVID-19 Task Force will continue to monitor the ever-changing situation, and BSO patrons will be kept informed regarding further cancellations if needed. Ticket holders for these cancelled performances will be contacted with instructions by the Ticket Office, including options for future credits as well as deeply appreciated ticket donations.
